My roommate and I wanted to get out of the city for Labor Day weekend and found ourselves driving toward Scottsdale, AZ.
It took us 8 hours in 110+ degree weather to get there, but it was the perfect random weekend we had envisioned.

We stayed in the grammable The Saguaro Hotel (Sa-wah-ro) in Old Town Scottsdale. We might’ve done that on purpose, we might have not. We definitely did it on purpose and we have no shame.

Places we recommend:
– FourTillFour Coffee
– The Breakfast Club
– Citizen Public House (Their chopped salad was unrealProbably shouldn’t be categorized as a salad with it’s pesto/buttermilk dressing, but I could eat this everyday.)

I had never felt heat like what I had felt driving through Palm Springs, then in Scottsdale. The zero humidity combined with the dry heat was a feeling I had never experienced in my years of living. Clapping my hands to all those who live in heat that could easily fry an egg in 60 seconds.
